Southwark: Fraudster Sentenced For A Multi-million Euro Scheme

A female fraudster has been sentenced Friday for transfer of criminal property in connection with a multi-million euro scheme.

According to the Metropolitan Police, Buddika Kaduragamuwa, 46 of Wood Lane, Barnet was sentenced to six months imprisonment at Southwark Crown Court, Friday, 4 March, 2016.

The sentence was for one count of transferring criminal property in connection with a multi million euro fraud investigated by the Met’s Criminal Finance Unit. It is however, suspended for 12 months.

Her co-defendant, Luis Nobre, 49, Portuguese national of King George Crescent, Wembley, was found guilty of one count of acquiring criminal property, five counts of transferring criminal property and three counts of possession of articles for use in connection with a fraud on Friday, 5 February, 2016. He was sentenced on Tuesday, 9 February, 2016 to 14 years imprisonment.

A third defendant, Nadeem Khan, died before the start of the trial.
