President Muhammadu Buhari has told the media he wants no apology from PM, David Cameron for branding Nigeria as `fantastically corrupt'.

President Buhari's remark follows David Cameron's comment that Nigeria is "fantastically corrupt" when speaking to the Queen about an impending corruption summit to which the Nigerian President is expected to attend.

President Buhari responded today saying he doesn't want an apology; but instead wants the PM to return assets he says were stolen from Nigeria.

The remarks were made in Buhari's keynote speech at a Commonwealth anti-corruption conference.

President asked in his Key Note address saying: "what would I do with (Cameron's) apology, I need something tangible". adding "Return stolen Nigeria funds back to the country."

Recovering hundreds of millions stashed away in Britain and other European countries like Switzerland has been at the forefront of his administration since he took over power.

He reportedly notified the PM during his visit to Downing Street just before his swearing in ceremony in 2015. But one year on, recovering the funds have never been harder.

According to Nigeria media, reports has made the rounds saying that recovering stolen funds has been an almost impossibility even though specific funds can be identified.

Political analysts think that this is a mature and worthy response to a private comment-made public, but which could have potentially caused a strain in relations.

According to Helen Turek who quoted President Buhari, `recovering [stolen] assets is tedious, time consuming and costly. But shouldn't be."
