Faulty Train Door Cause Early Morning Delay On The South Eastern

by Benson Agoha | Transport

A faulty train door at Abbey Wood station was blamed for delays on the South Eastern during the rush hour Friday morning.

Eye witness account say delays of up 20 minutes were caused when a train door malfunctioned at Abbey Wood Station and engineers had to try and fix it before the train could proceed.

Trains routed through Woolwich Arsenal and Greenwich were affected in a pile up as a result of the incident.

But when the fault was sorted eventually, the challenge moved to clearing the pile-up. South eastern responded by directing some trains to skip stations to make way for those behind.

Train speed was drastically reduced and only 1 minute lags separated one train from the other.

As usual, South Eastern apologised for the delay caused, but one passenger reportedly said: "South Eastern stop apologising just change the aged fleet".
