Those who had bad opinion about Cristiano Ronaldo performance at the on-going Euro 2016 might have found reason to change that after todays encounter with equally determined Hungary.

For whatever reason, the Portugal star had found it had to locate the net since the tournament began, but it all changed today after he scored two of Portugal's three goals. Nani scored the first to draw level after Hungary took the lead.

The game was charged from the start and Portugal came from behind three times to level up. But why they did not go on to score a fourth was had to understand.

Hungary came to the pitch with as much determination or even more than the Portugal stars, and went on to show it.

But those who had termed Ronaldo as a footballer with a `small mentality' would have been biting their tongues today.

From the time the line up filed out onto the pitch, he wore a `very serious' look.  A no-nonsensical kind of outlook that said it all.  And his frustrations were unhesitatingly visible as he moved around the pitch like a hungry lion.

He was not the only Portugal star that was so determined today. Nani and Pepe were equally exemplary and Pepe defence capability was very glaring.

It was however, Nani that opened scoring for the Portugal side when he equalised following a goal by the Hungarians.

So, they made it.  Portugal is now through to the last 16 and might even be meeting England.

Congrats to Portugal.

Hungary 3

Portugal 3
