Image Search Planned For Pinterest, Say Company President

by Benson Agoha | Technology

We are used to word search, enhanced by the availability of online dictionary, but a revolutionary improvement to how we search for products and services is about to be showcased.

According to a story on Wall Street Journal, Pinterest is working on an image-discovery feature that can enable users to take a picture of an item and then search for similar products on its platform.

This means that, not only can we find an item by knowing its name, but we can also do so by know how it looks. Isn't that awesome.

Tim Kendall (top right), who became President of Pinterest in March of this year said: "What we've built ... is the capability to use your phone so that when you're in that moment -- that magical moment of inspiration -- you can find out where to buy that T-shirt.
