The Royal Borough of Greenwich is calling all residents with an interest in gardening. It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 80, a seasoned gardener or if you’ve never picked up a spade - we have allotments available for immediate use!
We have worked hard to make 51 allotments across the Royal Borough available for use by residents. These plots require maintenance and attention from Parks teams when they could be used for the benefit and enjoyment of residents.
An allotment offers you the chance to grow your own organic fruit, vegetables and flowers at a fraction of the cost of buying them. It’s also a very sociable activity which allows plot holders to see old friends and meet new people while learning invaluable gardening skills.
In addition to bringing the allotments back into use, The Parks, Estates and Open Spaces department is also happy to provide advice and support for first time plot holders.
To further encourage people, we are waiving the fee for all new plot holders for the first 6 months in the sites listed below.
Cllr Jackie Smith (top right), Cabinet Member for Community Safety & Environment said: “Our allotments are a great asset to the community and always prove so popular with residents of all ages. There are many allotments in the borough which are unloved and in need of a new owner. With the fee waived for the first six months, we encourage residents to get in touch with us and take advantage of this great opportunity.”
