Mallam Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari died on Friday according to an announcement by Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmad.

The former Chief of Staff was in his 70s and and according to media reports, had underlying health problems, including diabetes. He will be buried on Saturday, April 18, 2020, in Abuja.
In a tweet on Friday presidency spokesman Garba Shehu said “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari” adding
“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.”
Spokesman Femi Adesina also confirmed the death former Chief of Staff.
Nigerians, who have openly doubted the existence of the coronavirus will now have to believe that this horrible disease does actually exist.
Nigeria's Centre for Disease Control maintain that social distancing is recommended.
