Festus Keyamo Inaugurates Steering Committee On Government's Plan To Employ 1000 Unskilled Persons For LGAs

Federal Governments plan to employ 1000 unskilled workers for Local Governments has been given the green light, says the Hon. Minister of State, Labour & Employment, Festus Keyamo.

Revealing the information on Twitter today, the Minister said the program is designed to employ 1000 "mostly unskilled persons for each of the 774 Local Government Areas across the country".

The Committee is chaired by the DG, Nat. Directorate of Employment , Dr. Nasiru Ladan. It has representations from the following Ministries:Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria.

Other ministries are the Federal Ministry of Agriculture Research and Development; Environment Ministry; Federal Ministry of Transportation; Federal Ministry of Water Resources; Federal Ministry of Works & Housing and the Federal Ministry of Labour.

He said the program will last for a period of 3 months.
