No Extension To Brexit Transition Despite Coronavirus

Britain will leave the European Union on December 31, 2020 despite the outbreak of the Coronavirus which has afflicted nations and led to a lock down, a report on Huffpost says.

According to HuffPost, Downing street has completely ruled out extension of the transition period which will see the UK fully exit the EU on December 31.

Britain left the EU on January 31, 2020 but a deal with the EU means it remains a member for a transition period ending on December 31.

But according the report, the UK must leave "EU structures on December 31 so it has the flexibility to respond to coronavirus."
