A man collapsed to the ground in a fit and threw up vomit this afternoon at the Bus Stop opposite the Wilkinson Store overlooking Woolwich Town Centre. He appeared to be on his way home.
(br/)When Woolwich Online got to the scene, he was being attended by a man who turned out to be the Driver of a Rout 472 Bus.
Eye witness said the Driver was not there when the man, aparently fainted, but got out of his bus to help when he saw that no one was attending.
A teenage school girl, in company of her mates, told Police that the man who was sitting on the Chair at the Bus stop. Suddenly he was seen tilting sideways, falling by his side and eventually slumped, and lay the floor, coughing out vomit.
She said,"..when the man fell on the floor, no one stopped to help. People just continued to pass him to whereever they were going.
She said she called for an ambulance but none came. But eventually the driver of the 472 came out and put out another call.
Shortly afterwards, a Police van pulled up and three officers came out to help. A little while later, a paramedic car arrived the scene and relieved the police officers who continued on their journey.
After asking the victim some questions, he put out a call and shortly after words, anther emergency van arrived to take him to the hospital.
