* Terrorist Act Arrests.
4 people were arrested this morning by S015, the special branch of the Metropolitan Police dedicated to the fight against terrorism.
"The SO15 Counter Terrorism Command was launched in 2006 to bring together all expertise in intelligence analysis and development, investigation and operational support activities geered to effective fight against terrorism.
In a Twitter message, the Police confirmed the arrest and suggested the arrest may be linked to failure to disclose information to assist the apprehension and prosecution of terrorists.
Details of the arrest have not been made public, but in the meantime, it is safe to be aware that people failing to report or disclose information about terrorists to the police risk arrest.
In that respect, arrests over withholding of information about acts of terrorism, according to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000 can be made "where a person has information which he knows or believes might be of material assistance (a)in preventing the commission by another person of an act of terrorism, or (b)in securing the apprehension, prosecution or conviction of another person, in the United Kingdom, for an offence involving the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism", but refused to disclose it.
In a seperated event on Tuesday 29, October, 2013 at the Woolwich Traders Forum, Sgt Mat Coker of the Counter Terrorism Unit, urged residents and businesses to report people if they suspect them of planning to commit an act of terrorism.
Such reports can be made by calling the Anti-Terrorist Hotline: 0800 789 321.
