PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN RECEIVES WORLD CUP WINNERS AS BILL GATES VISITS NIGERIA by Benson Agoha
* World Cup Winners: The Golden Eaglets.
Nigerians were continuing their celebration after their Under 17 team won the World Cup for the fourth time on Friday.
The Finals, saw the Nigerian boys beat the Mexicans 3-0 at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the United Arab Emirates Capital City of Abu Dhabi.
The Nigerian players returned back home over the weekend to a rousing welcome and cash rewards announced by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The victorious team was later received at the State House by the President, who happily lifted the trophy up to the world media.
The victory makes Nigeria the only country to win the U-17 world cup a record number of four times and President Jonathan said "This victory is for the whole of Africa & the beginning of a new era in the revival of our nation’s competitive spirit."
At a Special Reception in honour of the victorious Golden Eaglets at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, President Jonathan promised that his administration will continue to provide the necessary support to the youth, so that they can continue to rule the world in sports.

It was a well deserved win as the team, comprising of very skilled youth, played entertaining footbal and showed an obvious zeal to win the cup.

Nigeria's big footballing news is followed closely by the visit today, of Bill Gates, the billionnaire owner of Micro-Soft who is visiting the Country to further his campaign for the eradication of Polio.

He was received at the State House, Abuja, the Federal Capital Terriroty, where he had a meeting with other stakeholders.
Thereafter, the philantropist proceeded to Sokoto State, where he was decorated by the Sultan of Sokoto.
