In the beginning, they were school mates. As school mates, they were friends. As teenagers, they were in Love and at adulthood, they are husband and wife.
The story of two London lovers Tayo and Oliver Arkle, who tied the knot in the past weekend is one that helps you see the positive side of interracial relationships. And as you will soon see, it has come a long way.
The pair met way back in 2003 - at Junior secondary school at the Archbishop Michael Ramsey Technology College, on Farmers Road, Camberwell. And because of an accident of similarity of saw names, spent much of their time studying together in the same class.
Nevertheless, it wasn't all smooth-sailing - at least not from the outset. Because the first time Oliver asked Tayo out, her first response was “no”, and reports say, she immediately felt terrible about it. So she returned the favour.
That night she phoned Oliver to see if he was ok; His mum answered the phone and after handing it to him, they began talking endlessly, initiating a beautiful friendship. From then on, Oliver and Tayo were inseparable.

Eventually, Tayo left for Nigeria for a work placement in an Architecture firm. She returned on Sunday, January 19th, 2014 and as she landed at Heathrow, Oliver was waiting.
Unware of his intention, she wondered why he was on suit when he came to receive her. But despite the jetlag, when he went down on one knee, the response was a ready “Of course, a big Yes! Yes!” And then, the tears of joy as bystanders, including friends and strangers clapped for them.
For the wedding, the pair had no inhibition crossing each other's cultures, being fully clothed in the traditional Yoruba gab, and going back to the school where they met and say "I DO" at the school's Chapel, in modern wedding suit and gown.
Well, there is this song by Robbie Williams that fits the scene. And because you have read so far, you deserve "She's The One". Enjoy before you head to the photos:
