Reporters, photographers and broadcast media are invited to come on board a majestic tall ship to celebrate the launch of Royal Greenwich Festivals 2016.
Cllr Denise Hyland (right), Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Cllr Denise Scott-McDonald (below right), Royal Borough of Greenwich Cabinet Member for Culture, Creative Industries and Community Wellbeing cordially invite you to the launch of the Royal Greenwich Festivals 2016 on Wednesday May 11th.
Our launch event celebrates the cultural vibrancy of Royal Greenwich and the world-class events that will take place as part of this year's annual Royal Greenwich Festivals.
The festivals build on the huge success of last year’s programme, and will take place throughout the Royal Borough in the coming weeks and months. Running throughout 2016, the festivals include Greenwich Dances, Greenwich Childrens’ Theatre Festival, Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, Greenwich World Cultural Festival, Parksfest, the Greenwich Book Festival and the Greenwich Music Festival. Interviews with representatives from the festival strands will be available upon request.
Guests at the launch will be able to see a preview of some of the exciting acts that will appear throughout the Royal Greenwich Festivals programme – such as Parkour dance from the Greenwich Children’s Theatre Company. Weaving their choreography across the boards of the Morgenster, the Company will transform the unusual into spaces of beauty, energy and life.
The launch event is also a great chance to find out more about the Sail Training International Rendez-vous Tall Ships Regatta 2017, which comes to Greenwich and Woolwich over Easter weekend in April 2017.
