Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sawan-olu said last night that his heart had been broken by the news of the latest gas explosion in Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos which killed several people.
In a twit, the governor said the explosion was a sign that the stricter rules the government has been implementing for the gas and other petroleum operators needed to be widened and quickly.
He expressed his sadness to the families of those who lost close relatives in the explosion, saying words were not enough to "express how sad and regretful we feel"
"My heart breaks at the gas explosion today which is a sign that the stricter rules we are implementing for gas and other petroleum operators need to be widespread & faster" the governor tweeted, adding "Medical intervention is happening at the Gbagada General Hospital while rescue operations continue.
"For the families of those we have lost due to this explosion, no words are enough to express how sad and regretful we feel but may the souls of your loved ones rest in peace."
