NEPALESE AND ASIAN FESTIVAL, AT THE SQUARE by Benson Agoha

The second Nepalese Festival to hold at the General Gordon Square, held on Sunday, July 1, 2012, but this time, it was an enlarged version called `ASIAN FESTIVAL'. The programme of the event included, speeches, cultural dances, singing, foods and masquarades. Below are photos from the event.
* The Master of Ceremonies professionally co-ordinated the programme of events without any glitch. Who says that experience isn't a necesary skill?
*Side attractions included Masquarrade dances, as two giant faced, pop-eyed masquarades entertained the crowd.
The Gurkha Club Restaurant was ably represented and other Indian restaurants also attended and with the weather being so kind, the day was blessed with sun shine and dry atmosphere, making attendance worth the while. Congratulations to the Nepalese in particular and Asia in gerneral for pulling it off, for the second time.
*The Gurkha Club Restaurant Stand
*Children were also not left out as a giant wheels and slide were provided to cater for their needs
*Guest Singer from Greenwich, sang to the delight of the crowd as four uniformed male dancers danced to the rhythm.
*Guest Singer from Greenwich
* Female dancers from Nepal getting ready to display.
* An impressive attendance. This years event was well attended and orderly - just like last year's.
* Sucil doing his thing as the man-behind-the-mask.
* The `quantum leap'. The masquarade in the swing of the rhythm, as the Punjabi Troupe watch, awaiting their turn.
* The orderly attendees give rise to the hope of another event for the next.
* Manish,an Actor and Manager of Ghurka Restaurant, gives my Camera a thumbs-up as he plays the role of a `Service Man'.
* And so it was that whatever has a beginning must come to an end. The Square which was filled began to empty again as the attendees gradually found their ways out and back home.
So folks, till next year when the event brings people together again, stay blessed and adventurous. Thank you everyone.
