INVITATION FOR ENTRY TO A "SHORT STORY COMPETITION" - 2013 by SONNY JONES

We invite you to enter our "Short Story Competition" for (Summer 2013).

THE PUBLIC IS invited to submit a short story to our Open Competition for the Summer of 2013. Your story should be chosen from either of the following two themes:




A) "THE UNTRAVELLED ROAD"

(A: First Prize - £60, Second Prize - £40, Third Prize - £10.)

or

B) "ANNAH CRIED!"

(B: First Prize - £60, Second Prize - £40, Third Prize - £10.)

NOTE #1: LENGTH: Your Story should not be more than 2,000 words.

NOTE #2: ELIGIBILITY: This invitation is open to the general public, of all ages. All entries will be judged anonymously and no allowance made for age.

NOTE #3: ENTRY FEES: £6.00 for one entry, £10.00 for two entries, £5.00 per subsequent entries.

NOTE #4: PRICES: WINNERS PRICES WILL BE PAID AS FOLLOW:

NOTE #5: PRICE PAYMENT: WINNERS MAY RECEIVE THEIR PAYMENT OR NOMINATE A CHARITY OF THEIR CHOICE IN THE UK TO RECEIVE THE DONATION.

NOTE #6: ENTRANTS WILL BE INVITED TO AUDITION FOR ROLLS IN A DRAMA GROUP PLANNED FOR 2013.

NOTE #7: RESIDENTS OF GREENWICH, CHARLTON, WOOLWICH ARSENAL, PLUMSTEAD, THAMESMEAD AND ABBEYWOOD WILL BE GIVEN SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR ENTRY INTO THE DRAMA GROUP.

NOTE #8: BOYS AND GIRLS OF AGES 8 TO 18 WILL BE PARTICULARLY INVITED TO AUDITION FOR ROLLS.

NOTE #9: You can enter as many times as you wish but only one entry per entrant can win a prize and every entry must be accompanied by the appropriate payment.

NOTE #10: Entries cannot have been previously published and must be the original work of the entrant. Entries will be disqualified if found to be in print or online anywhere, including blogs.

NOTE #11: Please do not send us entries that have received an award from a previous competition, or anywhere else. Please do not send us entries currently waiting to be judged in other competitions, or that have been submitted for publication and are awaiting response will be disqualified.

NOTE #13: No refunds given. The only exception to this rule will be if the organisers cancel the competition (eg if not enough entries have been received to cover the prize fund

NOTE #14: ENTRY LANGUAGE: All entries must be in English. Double line spacing is preferable. As entries will be judged anonymously please ensure the entry form is completed.

NOTE #16: PANEL DECISION IS FINAL and no correspondence will be entered into.

NOTE #17: No corrections will be accepted, onced submitted.

NOTE #18: Entry implies acceptance of the rules.

NOTE #19: We reserve the right to cancel the competition. For example if there are not enough entrants and the price money cannot be covered.

NOTE #20: Closing date for the competition is noon (GMT) Monday,30 September 2013. Winners will be announced on this site, on or before Thursday, 31 October 2013.
