BAN KI MOON SAYS NO MERCY IF CHEMICAL WEAPONS WERE USED IN SYRIA by Benson Agoha

The Secretary General of the United Nations has asked the Permanent Members of the Security Council to develope appropriate reponse as they await the result of the observations after the samples are analysed.

In a news release by UN News Centre, the Secretary General said it important to be ready to punish any side that has used chemical weapons on the syrian people.

According to the report "the mandate of the observer team was to determine the use of chemical weapons, not who has used them, and that the team was not given that kind of mandate for the mission.

If confirmed, the Secretary General called for perpetrators to be brought to justice without "impunity".
