* UN SCRIBE BAN KI MOON.
Hope on efforts to avert US military strikes on Syria is rising after United Nation's Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, welcomed the serious internatioal discussions which are currently being spear-headed by Russia.
Information released on the UN News Centre website, confirmed this.
Only two days ago, Pressident Assad reportedly agreed to step down on certain conditions, including that he will not be tried in international courts for war crimes.
Although this proposal was immediately rejected, with the US Secretary of State John Kerry, insisting his immediate removal from office and acceleration of efforts to seize and destroy Syria's chemical weapons.
Russia's proposition helped to reduce tension and paved way for more co-operation between the US and Russia on the issue.
The UN Scribe have always been firm that any confirmed use of chemical weapons should be fully accoutable to serve as a deterrent and "prevent any recurrence”.
The breaking news from the UN news service, stated that tests were ongoing from the "evidence collected by a UN team probing possible chemical weapons use in Syria".
The tests are being done "by laboratories in Europe."
