Woolwich: Iceland Stores Closes For Four-Day Store Refit
by Sonny Jones
* Iceland Store.
Iceland Store in Woolwich closed its doors on Saturday 18 January, 2014 for one week, after massive January sale.
The store will be closed between Saturday January 18 - Thursday, January 23rd 2014 for shop refit.
When we called at the store today, a workman said the shop will be reopened as scheduled.
Customers are advised to keep the faith and to check back on the 23rd as announced.
At the same time the Pound Mart has reopened for business, after two years absence.
The store, located besides Barclays Bank along Woolwich New Road, Woolwich was burnt down during the 2011 riots together with a Betting shop next door.
Their section of the building has remained boarded up over the past two years until recently when renovations started.
With the burnt property now fully renovated, Ladbrokes, Pound Mart, Wilkinson Stores and the GLYPT Tramshed have moved back in, effectively wiping any remaining evidence of the August, 2011 riot.
