* Nigeria's Finance Minister: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered an enquiry into the allegation of $20billion dollars of missing oil money from the accounts of the NNPC.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria's Minister of Finance has reportedly admited to the media that at least $10billion are missing.
In a video interview with Aljazeera, Okonjo-Iweala said president Goodluck Jonathan had said there is going to be an investigation and that he would like to have every kobo and every dollar accounted for.
She said "I think that we aught to do that under the auspices of the auditor general of the federation but with the help of independent forensic auditors".
The finance Minister said this necessary so that people will have confidence in the result of the investigation, "so that when the material comes out, when the work is done, it is really done on an objective basis that will lay the grounds for the truth and for action."
She said expert forensic auditors need "to go through these claims, go through these accounts and determine exactly which numbers are correct and then we set about trying to recover this within the economy."
"I actually think that this is urgent that we do this and that we build up the truth and trust, so that we can move forward on this," she added.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanu has been suspended over his handling of the confusion surrounding some missing billions which he originally put at about $49.8bn before down-grading it to $20billion.
Last week, Omar Farouk Ibrahim of the NNPC told the media that all money has been accounted for and that the "good sides of NNPC far outweighs its bad sides."
