Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, last night, at Maimouna festivities in Or Akiva, demanded a clear direction from the Palestinian Authority.
Netanyahu who is on holiday said Palestinian must chose between peace or not having peace, saying Israel wants genuine peace.
It comes as reports emerged that the Palestinian Authority has been holding discussions with Hamas about unity where as Israel was expecting the Hamas, which it considers a terror group to be disbanded.
In an official statement released on the official Google+ page of the Prime Minister of Israel, Netanyahu said:
"Today we see the Palestinian Authority, which yesterday spoke about disbanding, talking with Hamas about unity. They should decide whether they want to disband or have unity, and when they want peace, they should let us know because we want a genuine peace."
The Israeli PM added that while on holiday "today [monday], our enemies fired missiles at our communities and our policy is clear – to respond quickly and strongly. We strike at whoever comes to attack us. This is what we have done and this is what we will do."
He said "I would like to thank the police personnel, soldiers and volunteers, and all members of the security and rescue services, who guarded the millions of Israelis throughout Passover."
His remarks comes as media reports said terrorists launched seven rockets from Gaza into Israel early on Easter Monday during the last day of Passover.
The Israeli Defence Forces said Hamas was responsible.
Reports from the Jerusalem post said the first three projectiles struck uninhabited areas in the Sha’ar Hanegev region, activating Code Red sirens, but said no damage was reported.
JP said two other rockets launched from Gaza caused light damage to a street and several stores in Sderot, while the Iron Dome system intercepted at least one rocket.
The attack prompted an Israeli Air Force retaliation. The IAF bombed terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip following the attack on ground forces and rocket attacks on southern Israeli communities.
Both the Hamas attack early on Monday morning, made with a rocket-propelled grenade fired at soldiers on the border with the Strip and the subsequent warning shots fired into Gaza by IDF, reported no known injuries.
About a hundred rockets fired from Gaza have reportedly hit southern Israel since the beginning of 2014.
