In a press release, Crossrail said it proposes public spaces and above-ground property developments, that are integrated with station designs to improve the user experience for the travelling public.

Crossrail, which will fully open in 2019, said the `Places and Spaces' exhibition will incorporate the proposed urban realms and developments, outside stations along the Crossrail route.

The route will run across 40 stations, with 10 new stations and upgrades to several other existing ones.

At the exhibition, the public will be shown designs for improved spaces and developments from outside stations in London and beyond. And these designs, according to the statement, will be subject to review and revision as they are refined in the coming months.

"This is the first time an exhibition on urban realm and development, outside Crossrail’s stations across Greater London, has been shown to the public," the statement said.
