The General Gordon Square was a beehive yesterday as Pupils of Plumcroft Nursery and Primary school held their Summer Carnival.
The school's numerous pupils filled up the square and, dressed in various outfits showcased numerous artworks designed and created by them.
Some of the projects spelt out words ranging from Love, Respect, Happy to songs, all designed as a learning method.
Other activities, such as singing and face painting were also on display.
Built in 1902, Plumcroft Primary School has become a large 3-form entry school with over 600 children. It holds the carnival on annual basis.
In a 2013 report Ofstead said Plumscroft Primary School 'is a good school' as it praised the pupils attainment, improved quality of teaching, pupil's behaviour, the teachers and the headteacher as well as the governing body.
But ofstead also observed that the school is not yet an outstanding school due to 'more able pupils are not always challenged sufficiently in all lessons and the effort to raise achievement in writing and mathmatics has not yet been embedded.'
