Holders of Nigerian Passports will now have to pay according to their age and pagination of their passport.

It comes as the Nigerian Immigration Department announced it was changing the rules for obtaining Nigerian passport from 1st August, 2014.

* Nigerian Passport Fees Have Changed
From August 1, 2014.

Sources from the Nigerian High Commission in London told Woolwich Online the new fees will depend on the age of applicants and the number of pages they desire to have on their passports when they apply.

The advertised fee for intending applicants had been $65 and £20 Admin Fee, payable through a Postal Order issued in favour of the Nigerian High Commission.

However, with the new rule, applicants of adult age (18 - 60 years) who require up to 32 pages on their passports, will now have to pay $112 and £20 Admin Fee. The Admin Fee is payable to the Nigerian High Commission.

The new rule also affect applicants of New passports in Nigeria where the new fee is now N15,000 (a 50% increase to its former cost of N10,000).

Applicants for Nigerian passports are advised to contact the Nigerian High Commission for confirmation before making payments.
