Why do Italians Offer The Most Varied Ice-creams Flavours?

 Asks Benson Agoha

The simple answer is that Ice-cream making is an ‘Italian Job.’ Well not exclusively, but yes, Italians are creative with Ice-creams.
Pick your choice, along exotic or traditional tastes.
When Olivia Komo thought she had tasted the best of Ice-creams in her native Guyana, it was not long before her impression changed after visiting Mexico City. Olivia soon realized that in Mexico, everything has its unique tincture of Mexican culture attached – including Ice creams.

But if Olivia was impressed in Mexico, she became even more so when she visited the Mediterranean straight, where she found that Italians make bold statements when it comes to making Ice-creams. Often, offering more variety than customers can easily choose from.

Olivia was not alone, Italian are good with Ice-creams, offering the savoury stuff in even the most remote towns and cities in Europe and around the world, where classic savours and mixes are displaced alongside Jaffa Cake, Mojitos and vegan versions for those who insist they won’t risk touching meat.

Pick your favourite ice-cream colours, often the most profound evidence of different mixes, can be tough, so you do get a free sample before-hand. Just make sure you look away from the lot when you sample a particular flavour.

But Ice-creams are not specifically an `Italian job’. Not necessarily.  However, because Italians are pace-setters, many ice-creams bars around the world identify with their proficiency and legacy.

There are several brunches to choose from ask along these lines English brunch, Italian brunch, American brunch, French brunch and or Norwegian brunch.  And yes…children brunch if you are travelling with kids.

And when you feel indecisive about which brunch you are craving, in the face of so many options, ask for a tasting sample. They never say no.

A guideline to choosing is usually best when taste is used. Ask for mint, sugar-free, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, Lime & Mint, Banana, Mango or even Watermelon besides the usual offers of chocolate, vanilla. And if you are feeling feminine, well use your female instinct.

My favourite Ice-cream bar is `The Black Vanilla’ in Blackheath.  Where is yours?
