Sidney Scene of Terror Attack Covered with Flowers as tribute to the dead

As news filtered out last night that armed police had ended the stand-off after a lone gunman took 17 people hostages inside a Sidney Cafe, the public heaved a sigh of relief over an experience that lasted 16 hours.

Reports from Sidney show piles of flowers dropped by the public in memory of the two persons who lost their lives.

According to the International Businesses Times of Australia, area around Lindt Chocolate Cafe at Martin Place was again full of life and blooming with floral bouquets.

"It's a far cry from the previous day when the streets of the commercial business district were deserted due to the Sydney Siege at the Lindt Chocolate Cafe at Martin Place." IBT said.

Man Haron Monis, 50, an Iranian refugee was said to be acting alone and had demanded to speak to Australia's Prime Minister, Tony Abbott as well as an Islamic State flag after the one he hoisted inside was discovered not to be the same as that of the ISIS.

Australia raised its terror alert level in recent months.
