According to the report, a Lagos State High Court on Thursday June 11 sentenced Osarenwinda Idahor (pictured) (a.k.a Ösas Idahor) to two years imprisonment on each of the two-count charge bordering on “possession of document containing false pretence”.
Idahor was arrested following a petition by the US Agency accusing him of hacking into their e-mail account and then used it to send scam messages for advance fee fraud.
Investigation by Nigeria's financial crime fighting agency, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), revealed that the convict disguised himself as one "Mrs Carlow Charles, a cancer patient who wanted to donate the sum of $10,500,000 (Ten Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars Only) to the motherless, widows and less privileged."
He was arrested and arraigned and he pleaded guilty to the charge on May 25, 2015 and was sentenced on Thursday without the option of a fine.
Both sentences will however run concurrently and the convict will be spending a maximum of two years in jail.
