PM David Cameron Orders Flag to fly at half mast above Dawning Street

Prime Minister David Cameron today ordered the flag above Dawning Street to be flown at half mast in memory of the victims of Friday's terror attacks in a Tunisian beach resort that saw many Britons dead.

38 sunbathers, many of them British, were shot dead by a gun man who laughed as he pulled the trigger on the hapless tourists in Tunisia.

Other countries who shared in the victims list include Ireland, Germany, and Belgium.

In a speech as the drama unfolded on Friday, PM David Cameron said the terrorists claim to kill people in the name of Islam, whereas the religion is a religion of peace.

The attack in Tunisia followed an earlier attack in a factory in South East France where a man was beheaded and an Islamic flag found near the scene.

The PM said he was "sickened by the attacks in Tunisia, France and Kuwait", and added  "Our countries stand together in combating the horrors of terrorism."

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks.

PM David Cameron, who has since returned from Brussels ordered the flag above Dawning Street to be flown at half mast in memory of the victims.

He tweeted: "I have asked for the flags over No10 to be flown at half-mast in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in Tunisia."

Earlier, the PM vowed: "We will defeat the terrorists!"
