Sir Richard Branson is most known for building his hugely successful Virgin Brand that has spanned many industries from communication to manufacturing, entertainment, air and rail transport and the ongoing research into space travel.

But between building his empire, the enterprenuer has been making the most of high sea adventure, braving and mingling with sea creatures some of which are really dangerous.

And he confirms he sometimes faces danger - like "when a sailfish almost took my eye out as I found myself in the middle of his lunch," he says.

The Virgin Boss posted the following breath taking photos and says contrary to what many people may believe, the images below were not Photoshopped.

The photos were taken by the incredible underwater photographer Shawn Heinrichs. And he says "The guy in there swimming? That’s me!"

The photos are remarkable, just as the explanations:

In one photo, a tiger shark looks particularly fearsome, but was I was perfectly safe snorkelling nearby."

In another he said "The image was one of the most peaceful swims I have ever had the privilege to enjoy, alongside the gentle giant whale shark."

As I wrote recently, humans simply are not on the menu for sharks.

He said: "I have been fortunate to join many of his expeditions, often highlighting the wonderful work of WildAid."
