Take a direct way to pay – and maybe win a grand, say Royal Greenwich

by WO Staff | Greenwich

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is reminding residents that paying council rent and other housing charges can be easy, and less stressful with direct debit.

Tenants even have a chance of winning £1,000 worth of shopping vouchers by switching to direct debit before October 30. Tenants already paying housing charges by direct debit will be automatically entered into the prize draw.

Arranging direct debit payments means households can be sure that important bills are paid on time all the time.

The Council offers four installment dates each month, on the 7th, 14th, 22nd and 28th days of the month, and they will be notified in advance of the amount collected from their bank account each month.

Those wishing to sign up will need a UK bank account to set up a direct debit.

There are a number of ways to set up a direct debit for housing payments:
  • using the online form now at www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/housingpayments
  • call the Royal Borough’s Housing Direct Debit team on 020 8921 3201 and arrange to pay by direct debit over the phone.
