Time Running Out On Boko Haram As Top Leader Arrested In Chad

N'Djamena, Chad - A top Boko Haram leader has reportedly been arrested in N'Djamena, according to media reports.

Chadian Public Prosecutor, Alghassim Khmis told the media that Baana Fanay, a key Boko Haram leader in charge of trafficing of weapons in Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad was arrested on Sunday in the Chadian capital.

Fanay, alias Mahamat Moustapha, was arrested by security forces after a fierce resistance.  He was arrested with two other terrorists.

A search in his house led to "the seizure of different weapons and documents written in Arabic by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau", Nigeria Camera reports.

A further discovery of seven other terrorists hiding in a house in Diquel, a Dinguessou suburb, on the periphery of N'Djamena. And that a man believed to e the financier of the group was arrested and placed under interrogation, the outcome of which is expected to dismantle Boko Haram network in the country.

"Since the simultaneous attacks that killed 38 people and injured 100 others in N’Djamena on June 15, Chadian security forces have arrested 74 people suspected of involvement in the attacks," Nigerian Camera said.
