GCSE Results Set Royal Greenwich Students On Path To Success

Students across the Royal Borough of Greenwich have been celebrating achievement in GCSE exams this week which are setting them on the path to sixth-form study and other opportunities.


The number of Greenwich students achieving five or more A* - C grades including English and Mathematics remains above the national average.

The borough’s rate is estimated to be at least 58%, subject to final confirmation of results.

In both English and Maths the proportion of Greenwich students passing at A* - C remains above the national rate.



Cllr John Fahy, Deputy Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Cabinet Member for Children’s Services said: “GCSE results day is always an anxious time for students and their parents. However the results achieved by young people today represent the culmination of two years’ hard work and dedication."



“I would like to congratulate all our students on their results and wish them well as they progress into higher or further education, or into other opportunities such as apprenticeships or traineeships."



“The Council will continue to work with local schools to ensure that young people in Greenwich have the best possible start in life.”
