A former Secretary to the Nigerian government and one time Minister of Finance, Chief Olu Falae, who was abducted by his own herdsmen, during a visit to his farm in Akure, has been rescued and brought back home, Pulse reports.

Recounting his ordeal, Chief Falae said he was forced to sleep on bare floor for four days, by the heartless Fulani herdsmen.

The visibly shaken former Presidential aspirant was reportedly escorted back home by men of the Police force, after a Presidential order to rescue him. He arrived home at 4.14pm on Thursday, Pulse said.

Solomon Arase, Nigeria's Inspector General of Police (IGP) said: “The important thing now is that Baba Falae is back home safe and sound according to the mandate given to me by the President."

The IGP said: “President Muhammadu Buhari gave me a mandate and that is what I have done exactly, rescuing Baba Falae and bringing him back home safe and sound.’’

“We are going to diversify our strategy so that hoodlums will not overwhelm the state. We will continue to degrade, catch and bring them to book.”

But the rescue was without blood-shed as his kidnappers reportedly dropped him, in front of Joyland Hotel in Owo, where he was picked up by security operatives.
