Two new suicide bombing attacks by terror group Boko Haram has claimed the lives of five people in Norther Cameroon early today.

At least five people killed in the double suicide bomb attacks launched by Islamist terrorist group that a multi-national force by the African Union is battling to control.

Today's attack occurred despite a rumoured offer made by Boko Haram to the Nigerian government, promising to hand over 375 girls the group kidnapped from their hostel in Chibok in April of 2014, in exchange for one of their top fighter with IED making experience. President Muhammu Buhari of Nigeria reportedly declined the request.

A senior military official (Cameroon) said on condition of anonymity, the attacks happened at around 8am Sunday, in the town of Mora, 65 km north of Maroua, the headquarters of the Far-North Region of Cameroon.

Two civilians and two young female bombers died together with a police office who, reportedly, tried to prevent the bombers from entering the town. Twenty-nine others were also wounded.

Boko Haram has repeatedly used young suicide bombers to cross the western Cameroonian border with Nigeria in the Far-North Region to launch attacks, killing many people, mostly unarmed civilians.

The group has killed thousands of people, ravaged villages, burnt houses, including places of worship. They have also, on occasion targeted religious leaders - including Islamic sheikhs who are perceived to be too soft or compliant.

It claims to be pursuing the ambition to set up an Islamic Caliphate in parts of Northern Nigeria. And it has, at least on one occasion pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, before replacing their known leader - Abubabar Shekau.

The latest suicide bomb attack comes as the Nigerian army announced it was embarking on what is termed "the final push" to destroy Boko Haram, while re-opening schools (above) that had been closed due to insecurity.
