Tesla To Produce Cheaper Electric Cars In Two Years, New Nevada Gigafactory To The Rescue

Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk has confirmed his company will begin to produce smaller and cheaper cars in two years time, the Industry Weeks reports Friday.

* The Tesla Model S, P85D
From 2017, Tesla's new gigafactory being planned for Nevada will begin production, making it easier for Tesla to churn out cheapers model 3 cars at a lower cost. Tesla's current car is the Model S which costs $35,000 (£23,000)


In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Musk said "Model 3, our smaller and lower cost sedan will start production in about 2 years. Fully operational Gigafactory needed," explaining further that the current Model S is also cheaper by $5000  (£300) than the Model X due to size.

And the first orders for the Model S, which Consumer Reports called the best car they tested in 80 years of testing cars will be ready end September when it will be handed over.


One of the early celebrities who is experiencing the new Tesla is Oprah Winfrey who shared a photo of her experience with the white coloured Model S, the P85D during testing. She was being shown the secrets of the vehicle by a dealer, when she posted the photo on Instagram saying "Test driving my new Tesla with dealer Dan. Love it!!"
Woolwich Online reported on Wednesday how the Model S, P85D reportedly shattered Consumer Report records in Car Testing.
