Amazon has extended its delivery coverage to Woolwich and environs. Online shoppers in Woolwich Thamesmead and Plumstead can now get their hands on items bought on Amazon within hours of purchases.

A time frame of just 60 minutes is now possible with the installation of Amazon Locker at the Woolwich Library on Love Lane.

The Prime Now service which has also been extended to other London areas like Wandsworth, Sutton and Merton are Amazon's latest move to increase their market share of the click and collect sector.

Other areas that have got their hands on the service promised from two hours include Kingston, Croydon and Sunbury. The extension is made possible by the opening of a new fulfillment center at Wimbledon.

We asked a Manager at the Library and he confirms the service is now operational. He said it is easy to use too.

But how does it work? The Library Manager explains "When you order your product, you fill out the address form and through your post code, Amazon sends you a pin and pass-word which will enable you to collect your product from the the locker."

Christopher North, Amazon's UK Managing Director said the introduction of ultra fast delivery in London is proving very popular among residents in the capital, resulting in increasing sales of several items from as simple as bottled water, coffee and nappies to latest must-have popular items like games consoles, toys and sports equipment.
