It was a win win for Nigerian International, John Ogu who plays for Hapoel Beer Sheva FC of Israel, as he proposed to his girl friend on the pitch and revealed "She said yes".
John Ogu, who plays for the Super Eagles, as well as the Israeli Club, had just finished a great game when his girlfriend walked unto the pitch towards him - and his team mates. Ogun got down on one knee and asked.
Surprised and laughing, with her arms covering how mouth, she accepted and they embraced, as his team mates rejoiced with them.
Later he thanked God and tweeted "Thank you great God. Great result tonight and above all she said YES!!!!!".
And he thanked everyone for their "unending love towards my wife n I." His special thank you was reserved for n HBS fans.
The scoreline of the game between Hapoel Beer Sheva FC and M. Petach-Tikva FC ended 5:2 in favour of HBS. The result saw them at the 3rd position on the Israeli Premier League - with 10 points in 6 games.
After he tweeted the news, One fan wrote "That's a first. Hapoel Beersheba's Nigerian midfielder John Ogu proposes to girlfriend on the pitch after final whistle. She said yes."
