Adam Sandler Is Not Dead - Why Those Rumours Are False

by Benson Agoha | Entertainment

`Too Legit To Quit' was the title of the song by American rapper MC Hammer. His song was in response to rumours - in those days online and offline - that he hot rapper had quit singing. It lingered for awhile and Hammer came out bouncing into the music to quash the rumours.

If you went onto Twitter or Facebook on Wednesday last week, you might be led to believe that the actor and comedian had met an untimely end, taking his own life. The reports that were circulating, claimed that Sandler was found dead in his home - close to noon two days earlier.

But Adam Sandler is not dead, and the reports, according to the Inquisitr, came from a fake news website, apparently designed to fool the internet. The absurd claim was said to have come from a site called Linkbeef, which claimed that Marin County Police found Adam Sandler’s body.

But the mischief makers at Linkeef appeared to have copied and modified real reports on the death of Mrs. Doubtfire's Robin Williams, when they wrote “Sandler had recently returned to a rehabilitation centre to ‘fine-tune’ his sobriety, the Los Angeles Times reported in July.”

They added: “The local Sheriff’s office said Sandler was found unconscious and not breathing at his home near Tiburon, north of San Francisco.”

And that “‘At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made,’ police said in a statement.”

It prompted immediate reaction on twitter with one responding "What the hell.... Adam sander is dead? Is this real or a rumor bc I'm bout to legit cry..". Another tweeted "I thought Adam sandler was dead.."

But one person refused to believe saying "Adam Sandler can't be dead he's my favourite actor ."

But Woolwich Online can confirm that Adam Sandler is not dead because on Friday, October 2nd, he followed up a post he made on Facebook about his new movie, telling his friends: "Hotel Transylvania 2 Everywhere!"

He announced the opening of the new movie on Facebook on September 25 saying "@HotelT 2 Opens Today!!!"

Adam Sandler's Page is liked by some 52.5 million fans. Watch the Trailer of Hotel Transylvania 2 now:
