Enjoy The Great Outdoors This Autumn, Say Royal Greenwich

Cllr Danny Thorpe

The Green Chain is packed with things to do, most of which are free!

This autumn the Green Chain has teamed up with Southeastern trains to promote 12 amazing nature reserves located along the Green Chain Walk.

Easy to get to by train with Southeastern and free to visit, these are special places where you can discover some amazing animals in their natural surroundings- places like Oxleas Woodlands with its Woodpeckers and Nuthatches, and Sutcliffe Park with a range of birds that include Kingfishers, Herons and (if you listen carefully) Reed Warblers.

A free guide and leaflet can be picked up at selected Southeastern stations - just ask at the ticket office for a copy of the free guide.

Councillor Danny Thorpe, the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “The autumn is a great time of year to get out and about and to explore the beautiful surrounds and history we have here in Royal Greenwich. If you’re looking for things to do then I urge you to make the most of what the Green Chain has to offer.”

The events listed above are a snapshot of what’s on offer on the Green Chain this autumn.
