It looks like the perfect Christmas gift and in many respects may very well be exactly that to Ghana. The above vehicle was presented - ready for sale - from the factories of Kantanka Automobile in Ghana.
It is the brain product of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, who owns a network of churches and a vast arable land for farming.
The vehicle has been in the making for close to 45 years before finally successfully hitting the market.
According to `Yen', "...the man of God who owns a network of churches and a vast arable land for farming has finally realised his dream of developing and marketing cars “Made in Ghana”."
“It’s been in the pipeline since 1971,” said Kwadwo Safo Jnr, a son of the inventor. According to him,”it started with the old man, so it’s been a long time coming.”
He is the chief executive officer of Kantanka Group who has finally gotten the breakthrough to make head way into the market after so many hue and cries for attention and support from the government.
Apostle Katanka's other son Nana Addo is aiming to be the President of Ghana and recently said he would use it for his campaign in 2016.
“Earlier today, I test drove a Kantanka Omama pickup and promised to purchase a few for the upcoming campaign,” the three-time presidential candidate of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition said.
The former attorney general and minister of foreign affairs also gave the strongest indication that his government will support local companies.
“I assured the Management and Staff of Kantanka Automibile Ltd, and by extension all local manufacturing companies that if I win the 2016 election and become President, my government will support local, Ghanaian manufacturing companies,” Nana Addo posted on his Facebook wall.
