Police Launch Murder Investigation Over Woolwich Major Incident, Appeal For Information

* Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder at Jessup Close,
Woolwich.
Police has launched a murder investigation over the suspicious death in a Store Cupboard in Woolwich as reported on this portal on Wednesday.

A Met statement said Police were called at around 12:20hrs on Tuesday, 29 December to reports of an injured man at storage facility within a block of flats in Jessup Close, SE18.

When officers and the medics of the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended, they found a man (no further details) unconscious at the scene. He was pronounced dead there.

Police said the man remained unidentified at the time of going to Press and that his next of kin have not been informed.

Two middle aged men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder, according to the statement. The men - one 45-year-old man [A] and the other, a 46-year-old man [B] are currently being kept in custody at separate south London police stations.

A post-mortem examination held on Wednesday, 30 December reported the cause of death as `blunt force trauma to the head and chest.'

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn, are investigating the incident.
