In accordance with Town Centre Development Plans, The Royal Greenwich Contractor, commissioned to demolish No. 38 Wellington Street, Woolwich, has finally demolished the property.

But the building which housed the former Woolwich Grand Theatre took Surrey-based company more time to demolish than was originally allotted to them.

The Company, H. Turnbull and Co Limited has already overshot the contract period by 3 weeks as at today.

RBG records show that the company applied to Council for a demolition Scaffolding licence on 08/07/205. It's proposed time was to run from the Start Date 09/09/2015 to End Date 07/12/2015.

The proposed period of 3 months was approved after it paid the Licence Fee of £133 for Licence No. 47428.

A permit further instructed the contractor that Council gives "Messrs H. Turnbull & Co. Ltd., between September 9 - December 7, 2015 to complete the demolition and remove all hoarding and scaffolding used for the exercise."

Our follow-up visit Tuesday showed that the contractor was still working on site, although their rep was not on hand to answer our questions.
