Crime Updates For The Woolwich And Greenwich Town Centres

by Benson Agoha | In Woolwich

It has been a quiet few days in Royal Greenwich as far as town centre crimes are concerned.

However, there have been a few reports and the respective Town Centre Sgt have been providing updates.

From the 02, North Greenwich, Sgt Diane Hill, the Neighbourhood Sergent for the Greenwich Town Centre reported the arrest of four persons who refused to pay a food bill of £400 on Monday.

She said they even turned violent on arrest but said it was all captured by CCTV on the Police van.

In Woolwich, Sgt Matt Burns, Neighbour Sergent for the Town Centre reported the sentencing of a local street drinker who had earlier been arrested for public order offences before Christmas.

He will be spending 12 weeks in Belmarsh prison, according to the police report.

One male who stole from Argos and was later arrested at Spray Street on Thursday last week has now been charged and bailed to court, according to Sgt Burns.

The male had stolen from Argos and committed public order offences inside the store, then escaped, but was later tracked to Spray Street where he was arrested.

However on Saturday, Police announced the arrest of one thief who stole from Sainsbury's Store at Calderwood St. He reportedly made a full admission to two counts and was charged and bailed to court.
