Many are relishing the array of smooth flashy sports cars on display at the Autosport Show which kicked off on Thursday at the NEC in Birmingham.

As expected, the show is featuring every level of Motor Racing, from Karting to Formula 1 and truly brings together the world of motorsport under one roof.

But for the Fire Service, the Autosport is also about road safety and their mascot has been doing its bit to remind speedsters just that.

The West Midlands Fire Service Road Casualty Reduction Team @WMFSRCRT partnered with the Perry Bear and Rhino to spread the road safety message at the show.

But as it is often a case of different strokes for different folks, Susie Wolff, who launched a new initiative at the Show, her concern is to lure more women into motors sports.

She teamed up with the Motor Sports Association to launch Dare To Be Different which aims to inspire, connect and celebrate women who who work in every aspect of motorsport on an off track by building an online community and running a selection of free special events across the country.

“Our main aim is to drive female talent in all aspects of the sport, boosting awareness with young girls and demonstrating the varied and exciting areas of the sport – showing that they too can dare to be different.” Susie said at the event, adding “Autosport International is an event I always looked forward to coming to and there was no better place to launch our Dare To Be Different campaign. Not only was the timing right, but it’s the one show that brings all avenues of motorsport together."

Saturday is expected to consolidate on the active first day. The show runs from 14 –17th of January, 2016.
