Greenwich Time To Continue Weekly Publication, Say Royal Greenwich

by Benson Agoha | In Woolwich

The Greenwich Time, the official weekly publication for the Royal Borough of Greenwich, will not cease its weekly publication in June as reported yesterday, according to official statement from Council spokesperson.

A blogger had reported that the Council had now accepted to stop publication and to comply with Westminster directive on the matter.

But an official statement made available to Woolwich said the dispute over whether the Greenwich Time will continue to function as normal has been settled "without having to go to court".

The Royal Borough of Greenwich spokesperson said:

[ “We are pleased that Royal Borough and the Department of Communities and Local Government have settled the matter without having to go to court."

"We are pleased that the Department has accepted the Royal Borough’s need to continue to produce regular and frequent communication for residents, in order to keep them up to date on Council services, job opportunities and other important information.” ]

This puts to rest speculations regarding the fate of the Greenwich Time.
