Nissan Ibrahim, the female currently trending on Twitter after news emerged she has been executed by the Islamic State is not the only female to suffer that fate, according to a Syrian Group.

The group Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS) said Nissan Ibrahim operated as an independent activist.

Twitter is buzzing with the photo of the female journalist executed by the Daesh Junta, accused of spying.

Nissan Ibrahim is then pen name of Syrian Journalist Ruqia Hassan. She was murdered by the Islamic State after accusing her of spying.

Her last post was reported today as "Go ahead and cut off the internet. Our messenger pigeons won't complain".

Activists in Raqqa has confirmed that this was the last post of Syrian Journalist Ruqia Hassan who was murdered by the Islamic State after she was accused of being a spy.

Ruqia Hassan often posted information about the daily lives of residents living under ISIS in its Syrian stronghold of Raqqa.

Writing under the pen name Nissan Ibrahim, Ms Hassan's posts described how the city was targeted by coalition airstrikes on a regular basis.

It is not clear when the young journalist was first arrested by ISIS militants but her last Twitter post was on July 21 last year.

Her family were only informed of her death three days ago and were told she was found guilty of carrying out counts of espionage.

Even as she is trending on Twitter, a disclaimer was issued by one Raqqa based media that "We read some newspapers say that Nissan Ibrahim is with our group we want to Confirm that she is not with
#RBSS #IS".

A group that called itself Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS) clarified further that she was an independent activist. RBSS tweeted "Nissan Ibrahim Is an independent Syrian activist. She is not the only female who got Executed by
#ISIS #Syria".
