REMINDER - You Must Register To Be Eligible To Vote And Have Your Say, Greenwich Residents Told

by our RBG Correspondent | Woolwich
Local residents are reminded that they must be signed up to vote in order to have their say at this year's elections. Those who have moved home in the last 12 months or who have not previously registered to vote at their current address need to make sure they are on the electoral register in order to put their cross in the box.

There are two major votes in the coming months – the first is the London Mayor and London Assembly election which take place on Thursday 5 May and is open to UK, Commonwealth and EU citizens living in the capital. The second is the EU referendum, on Thursday 23 June, which is open to UK, Irish and Commonwealth citizens.

It only takes about five minutes to register to vote and residents can do this today by visiting
www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Those who do not have access to the internet can call 020 8921 5184 to request a form to be sent by post.

If you are going to be away on 5 May or 23 June you can vote by post, just contact the elections office today for an application.
You will be registered if you voted at the General Election and have not changed address and responded to all letters from the elections office. If you are not sure, you can find out if you are on the register by contacting the elections office.

To contact the Greenwich elections office, email:
elect@royalgreenwich.gov.uk or
call 020 8921 5184.
