Many a Christian are familiar with the phrase `Prayer Mountain' and it is not without reason.
Jesus Christ severally left his disciples to disappear unto the mountain top to pray, just many of other Prophets before Him.
In many countries, today several denominations still locate a mountain top for prayers. It is believed that the higher you go to prayer, the fast your prayers can travel - and perhaps gets answered.
But modern teachers of the Scripture explain that, whereas Prophets of old travelled to a `mountain' or `wilderness' for prayers, these can actually be symbolic of anywhere that prayers are said. Therefore, a prayer mountain can simply be a dedicated ground for prayers, even if it is an easily assessable flat surface.
The photo above was the Prayer alter of `prayer mountain' constructed for Pope Francis in Mexico during his recent visit. Rather than being on an actually mountain, it appeared surrounded by mountains.
The photos were shared on Twitter by AFP Mexico during the Papal Visit. Aside from its obvious serenity, Crosses were part of the physical feature.
Not surprising, the New Testament of the Holy Bible states that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for the sins of the World.
And while Pope Francis had tough words for Mexico leaders, critics accused him of being silent on "43 missing students and paedophilia".
