Crime Update For Woolwich As Police Arrest Fraudster At Town Centre Hotel

by Benson Agoha | Crime

One male was arrested at the Woolwich Town Centre Wednesday for failing to appear at court to answer for a charge of Theft.

The Police team spotted the male just outside Subway Eatery at the junction of Powis Street and Hare Street. He looked scared but cooperative as police placed a handcuff on him, then, as if to reward him for his cooperation, removed it and put it back with his hands behind his back.

According Sgt Matt Burns, Town Centre Sergeant for Woolwich, he was arrested for failing to appear before the Bromley magistrates court on the 4th March to answer for an offence of theft.

Two arrests were made of one person for committing fraud at the Woolwich branch of Travelodge. The other was for theft from Lidl Store in Woolwich.

Woolwich Travelodge refused to comment on the arrest siting official policy as reason.
